Evening with the Piano On Saturday at Oak Grove
WOOSTER -- Seventeen musicians from Wayne County, as well as Oberlin Conservatory of Music, Bluffton University and The College of Wooster, will participate in An Evening with the Piano at Oak Grove Mennonite Church at 7:30 p.m. Saturday. The concert is free. A free-will offering will be taken, and receipts will be used to promote music education. The church is located at 7843 Smucker Road near Smithville. Killbuck High School KILLBUCK -- The annual Killbuck High School Alumni Reunion was held at the Killbuck Elementary School on Labor Day. The class of 1962 was the host.

What does a busy mom need in her life? More details. More things to keep track of, prepare for and assemble. More papers sent home from school, more cards that need to be signed and more homework. I love teachers. Don't get me wrong here. After all, I married a teacher. They work long hours for little pay and put up their heart and soul into their jobs. They are the unsung heroes in our children's lives.
Orrville Chamber of Commerce Honors Local Arts, Music Students
ORRVILLE -- Several area students were honored by the Orrville Area Chamber of Commerce for their work in arts-related subject matter. Molly Harrison, an Orrville High School senior and the daughter of Mark and Annette Harrison, was recognized in the area of fine arts. Harrison participated in the Tri-C Fine Arts Academy in the spring and has served as editor-in-chief of the yearbook. She plans to study fashion design at a four-year college.
