Time Out a Spring Break for All Moms
We are on spring break this week, but I have to say that with four children holed up in the house with me and snow piled here and there, it sure doesn't feel much like spring, or much of a break, if you know what I mean. In high school, spring break was about working at the mall, staying up late and blowing way too much money shopping for shoes. In college, spring break was about resting and recouping from college life, research papers and final exams. Boy I thought I had it so hard back then.
WOOSTER -- Stuart James Ling, 90, of Wooster, died Monday, March 24, 2008, after a period of declining health. He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Terry Wagner Ling; two brothers, Robert T. Ling of Boylston, Mass. and Charles A. Ling of Garland, Texas. Also surviving are daughters, Kristine L. Holt (Richard), Karen L. Aczon, and Katherine L. Olsen (Niels); six grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Noble Ice Arena Playing Host to Aehl Playoffs
The Alice Noble Ice Arena will play host to the American East Hockey League playoffs this season when four teams face off for the Victoria Cup. Friday at 4:30 p.m., Harrington will face South Jersey, followed by a 7 p.m. game between the host Oilers and Dover. Saturday, the second game in both series will be played starting at 11:30 a.m. If either series is tied at 1-1, a 30-minute mini game will be played immediately following an ice cut.
CHESTER TOWNSHIP -- Mabel M. Krommes, 94, of Chester Township (Wayne County), went home to be with the Lord, Wednesday, March 26, 2008, at Wooster Community Hospital, following a brief illness. Services will be Saturday, at 2 p.m. at Mohican Church of The Brethren in West Salem with Pastor Paul Bartholomew officiating, followed by interment in Mohican Church of the Brethren Cemetery.

NORTH LAWRENCE -- Orland G. Milliken, 91 of North Lawrence, died Wednesday, March 26, 2008, at Laurels of Massillon. He was born in Guernsey County, Aug. 23, 1916, the son of the late Craig and Mary Milliken and retired from Union Drawn Steel after 37 years of service.
