Church Women United Plan World Community Day

BURBANK -- Church Women United World Community Day celebration will be Nov. 6 at 2 p.m. at Trinity Burbank United Methodist Church, across from the elementary school. Topic will be "The Earth is the Lord's" and in-gathering will be non-perishable items for People to People Ministries. The ecumenical celebration is open to all area men and women. Election of officers will be held.

James Kinsey

MILLERSBURG -- James A. Kinsey, 68, went home to be with the Lord at his home in Millersburg on Thursday, Oct. 29, 2009, after a courageous battle with cancer. He was born June 11, 1941, in Catfish, Pa., the son of Anna Vesta and Albert Kinsey. He had been baptized in the Christian Church and attended New Beginnings Church of Millersburg.

BURBANK -- Curtis Wayne Balis, 58, of Burbank, died Thursday morning, Oct. 29, 2009, at Cleveland Clinic Foundation, after a 5- year battle with cancer. Friends may call Saturday from 4-7 p.m. at Murray Funeral Home in Creston and Sunday from 4-8 p.m. at Waybright Funeral Home in Ripley W.Va., where services will be Monday at 11 a.m. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery in Leroy, W.Va.

RITTMAN -- Albert S. Brooks, 81, of Rittman, died Wednesday, Oct. 28, 2009, at his home after a period of declining health. Services will be Monday at 10 a.m. at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery. Friends may call Sunday from 2-5 p.m. at Murray Funeral Home in Creston.

WELLINGTON -- John H. Crane, 88, died Tuesday, Oct. 27, 2009, at Ohio Veterans Home in Sandusky. Born in 1921 to the late Daisy and Carl Crane, John was raised in the Lakewood area and lived on the west side of Cleveland until his retirement. After retiring, he and his wife moved to Millersburg where they built a home and then later moved to Wooster. The last few years, John and his wife, Alta, were Wellington residents.

SHREVE -- Frank C. Cronin, 66, of Shreve, formerly of Coshocton, died Wednesday, Oct. 28, 2009. A private family memorial service will be held at a later date. Online tributes may be made at www.robertsfuneralhome.com.
