Infield Rounds Third, Heads 'Home' After Productive Life

FREDERICKSBURG -- Ralph W. Herman, 85, of Fredericksburg, peacefully passed away on Tuesday, March 31, 2009, at his home after a lengthy illness. He was born near Winesburg on Jan. 29, 1924, to Harvey and Bertha (Jensen) Herman, and was a dairy farmer. Following retirement, he provided transportation for the Amish community. He loved his family, and enjoyed the Cleveland Indians baseball and fishing. He had served on the Holmes County School Board for many years.
WOOSTER -- Ernest Schooler Infield, 89, of Wooster, died Saturday, March 28, 2009, at Smithville-Western Care Center. Memorial services will be held in May with the date and time to be announced later.
ORRVILLE -- Lillie L. Johnson, 85, of Orrville, departed this life on Friday evening, March 27, 2009, at her home following a period of declining health. Funeral services will be held on Friday, April 3, 2009 at 1 p.m., at True Church House of Prayer to All Nations, 737 Buckeye St., Orrville, with the Rev. Charles Winters officiating. Burial will take place at Crown Hill Cemetery, Orrville.

WOOSTER -- A. Louise McCoy, 93, passed away Monday, March 30, 2009, at her home with her family by her side. Louise McCoy was born in Hagerstown, Md., in 1916 to John H. and S. Esther Tschop. She was a graduate of Oakwood High School in Dayton, and received her degree in Home Economics from The Ohio State University, where she was a member of Delta Gamma Sorority.

WOOSTER -- Benjamin P. Hershberger, 28, of 314 N. Geyers Chapel Road, Wooster, was charged with using weapons while intoxicated. He was arrested after a March 22 incident in which he allegedly was waving around a .38 semi-automatic pistol at his home, scaring those at the residence, according to a sheriff's report, but did not fire them. A series of tools were reported stolen from a residence along West Pleasant Home Road, Burbank, March 22. Estimated loss is $1,715.

WOOSTER -- Wayne Center for the Arts will play host to the annual exhibition of art students of the International Baccalaureate Program of the Tri-County International Academy through Monday. Living Nutrition the Diabetes Can of Worms Can Stay Shut
The doctors at my hospital have been taking National Nutrition Month very seriously. The number of my outpatient nutrition consults during March has doubled. The majority of the clients crossing my path are dealing with Type 2 Diabetes. Many of these folks were hospitalized with dangerously high blood sugar values before coming to talk to me about diabetes self-management education.
