CRESTON -- Canaan Country Cousins met at Canaan Lutheran Church on Monday and the club voted to make pizzas for a fundraiser. Again this year, the club is holding the Change Challenge (boys vs. girls), collecting spare change for the bicycle fundraiser.

Student Carpenters Build Pergola for Downtown Orrville Events

SMITHVILLE -- Wayne County Schools Career Center carpentry and construction technologies students completed construction of a pergola at the corner of West Market and North Vine streets in Orrville. The project, made possible by a grant from Heritage Ohio, was planned by Main Street Orrville with cooperation from the Orrville Area Chamber of Commerce.

Orrville Railroad Heritage Society The main topic of discussion was the spring Orrville to Bellevue excursion Saturday, when Orrville Railroad Heritage Society met May 5. A brief discussion on the other excursions and promotions was held. ORHS had a booth at Lodi Outlet for National Railroad Days.

SMITHVILLE -- Seventeen Wayne County Schools Career Center students placed in the top 10 in SkillsUSA State Skills Ohio Championships recently in Columbus. First-place winner Tiffany Weaver of Dalton, national officer delegate Samantha Cline of Triway and voting delegates Sarah Gessman of Triway and Chelsea Chrostowki of Dalton will attend the SkillsUSA National Leadership and Skills Conference in Kansas City, Mo., in June.

I know this makes me totally Disney rated, but I kind of like Miley Cyrus's music. And I enjoy watching "Drake and Josh," "iCarly" and even "The Wizards of Waverly Place." That's what my life has become. Miley Cyrus has a song about the seven things she hates about her boyfriend, or ex-boyfriend; who can keep track anyhow. But the point is that even though he has these annoying habits, she loves him in the end. And that's kind of like motherhood.
