SHREVE -- Marjory Peck Austen, formerly of Ashland and Shreve, passed away in Texas on Dec. 31, 2009. She was born on Dec. 26, 1932, to Alva M. and Lela V. Petty in Somerset.
MILLERSBURG -- Donald L. Bigler, 83, of Millersburg, died Friday morning, Jan. 1, 2010, at Majora Lane Care Center in Millersburg following a period of declining health. Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Tuesday at Alexander Funeral Home, Millersburg, with Rev. Dr. Kenneth Walther officiating. Burial will be at Oak Hill Cemetery in Millersburg.
MARSHALLVILLE -- Isabel Virginia Goody, 82, of Akron Road, Marshallville, died early Friday morning, Jan. 1, 2010, at Aultman Hospital in Canton following a period of declining health. Services will be Monday at 11 a.m. at East Chippewa Church of the Brethren, 7207 Chippewa Road, Orrville, with pastors Delbert Kettering and Leslie Lake officiating. Burial will be in Rittman Cemetery.
LOUDONVILLE -- Barbara Ann Eicher Kirkwood, 63, of Loudonville, died Thursday evening, Dec. 31, 2009, at her home after a short illness. Barb was born Oct. 26, 1946, in Chatfield, the daughter of the late Morris E. and Goldie A. (Johnson) Eicher. She grew up in the New Washington-Chatfield area also living in Shelby where she was a 1966 graduate of Shelby High School.
WOOSTER -- Norman Earl Henderson of Wooster passed away peacefully on Thursday, Dec. 31, 2009, at his home due to complications of mesothelioma. Norm was born June 1, 1922, in East Liverpool, to Darl and Elizabeth (Kern) Henderson and married Marjorie Ritchie of Beloit on May 31, 1946.

BALTIC -- Mose E. Raber, 71, 3210 State Route 643, Baltic, died Friday, Jan. 1, 2010, at his residence following an extended illness. He was born March 12, 1938, in Holmes County to the late Eli M. and Sarah (Troyer) Raber.
WOOSTER -- Edward I. Wenger, 89, of Wooster, formerly of Seville and Smithville, passed away peacefully on Thursday evening, Dec. 31, 2009, surrounded by family at West View Manor, Wooster. He was born near Dalton, on Oct. 22, 1920, the only child of Emmanuel and Anna E. (Imhoff) Wenger. He attended Pokeberry Country School and Dalton High School. After working for neighboring farmers, and Sterling Hatchery, he spent 40 years working in various departments at Morton Salt Company, Rittman.
SUGARCREEK -- Roman A. Yoder 88, of 613 Smokey Lane Road N.W., Sugarcreek, died Friday, Jan. 1, 2010, at 4 a.m. in his residence following a brief illness. Born July 17, 1921, he was a son of the late Andrew and Amanda (Troyer) Yoder. He was a retired farmer and a member of the Amish church.
Menopausegroup to meet WOOSTER -- Arica Betson, registered dietitian, and Sherry Leggett, health and wellness specialist, will present a session about the changing nutritional and exercise needs during the menopausal transition when the Red Hot Mamas meet Tuesday. Staying Fit, Strong, and Fabulous: Prescription for a Healthy Life is the topic for the 6:30 p.m. meeting in the auditorium at Wooster Community Hospital.

Tokyo String Quartet to present concert WOOSTER -- The Wooster Chamber Music Series will present the Tokyo String Quartet on Sunday at 3 p.m. The concert will be held in Gault Recital Hall of Scheide Music Center on The College of Wooster campus. Tickets for the concert are $12.50 for general admission, $10 for seniors and students, and are available at the Wooster Book Company, Florence O. Wilson Bookstore, or at the door.

Oilers Win New Year's Eve Game Against Troy
The Wooster Oilers returned from a holiday vacation on New Year's Eve and got right back to their winning ways against Troy, 7-3. It was another penalty filled contest between these two in-state rivals. Thirty one penalties were assessed in the contest with a game misconduct and a game ejection added for good measure.
