Q: I've heard about a disease called anthracnose causing trees to lose leaves. What does it look like and will it kill the trees?
A: Anthracnose is the reason for many phone calls and samples coming into our office right now. It is a fungus type disease that causes die-back of leaves along veins and twigs, a blotchy leaf appearance and twig cankers. When found on maples, ash and oaks (especially white oak) it can cause short-term defoliation, but usually doesn't affect overall tree health.See the full content of this document
