Chilly Creations Wayne County Fares Well in Ice Contest

SMITHVILLE -- Culinary arts students from all over Ohio made their own snow Saturday as they carved icy creations in downtown Smithville. The 11th annual Ohio Ice Classic hosted 13 teams from EHOVE Career Center in Milan, Canton South High School, R.G. Drage Career Center in Massillon and the Wayne County Schools Career Center. The carvings will be on display along Smithville's sidewalks until they melt.

Using chain saws, irons, drills and assorted other tools, the students carved snowmen, candy canes, chimneys, gifts, candles, teddy bears, swans, trees, stars, sleds and even Frosty's kitchen stove.
