Summary


Republican candidate John Kasich beat Gov. Ted Strickland in November's governor's race by a margin of 2 percentage points. 49- 47. According to recent polls, he would have a difficult time in a rematch.

According to a Public Policy Polling survey, Strickland beats Kasich by 15 percentage points, 55 percent to 40 percent, in a rematch. According to a University of Cincinnati poll, only 40 percent approve of Kasich's performance as governor. And a Quinnipiac poll from late May shows 49 percent of voters disapproving of Kasich's performance, with only 38 percent approving.
