Feeling Like an Ant Can Lead to Empowering Choices

Summary


Have you ever watched an ant hill when it has been disturbed? As the masses of disturbed ants try to get out of the hill, they become frenzied, running left and right, climbing over each other and any other ants that are returning to the ant hill. These returning ants, which appear calm and unaware of the disturbed frenzy, continue to try to get back into the ant hill. Although they are met with great resistance and typically seem to make no progress, they look as though they know what they are doing is right. They are determined and continue to struggle forward.

Do you ever feel like one of those ants returning to the ant hill? Perhaps this happens when you are trying to do what is right or trying to make the right choice? Does it seem as though everyone else is in a frenzy to do exactly the opposite? Do you find yourself thinking: why do I bother?
