Summary
NORTHWESTERN DISTRICT -- The chapter recently held its Greenhand and Chapter Degree Ceremony in the Northwestern High School Theater. The ceremony opened with a slide show of all the recipients. Guest speaker Carl Way, father of Kent Way, one of the Greenhands, spoke about his experiences in FFA and his hopes for the prosperity of the American farmer for the next generation. The Ohio FFA vice president, Krystin Bachman, spoke about inspiring members to seek out opportunities and select the better ones.
The Greenhand Degree is the first step to furthering one's experience in FFA. Members must recite the FFA Creed, pass a test on FFA history, show basic parliamentary procedure skills and meet other requirements. This year's recipients were David Coiner, Matt Dillon, Mitch Dillon, Sarhra Flinn, William Frankenburg, Amber Franks, Kelsey Geitgey, Savannah Gregan, Addie Hastings, Tessa Hershey, Travis Holcomb, Sabrina Johnson, Kaitlyn Karickhoff, Stacie Kingsbury, Elissa Lindeman, Sara McWilliams, Mackenzie Mehrl, Misty Meurer, Alison Michael, Anna Miley, Alyssa Obermiller, Chelsea Odenkirk, Kelsey Shearer, Jessica Stevens, Josh Switzer, Tessa Topp, Marla Walton, Kent Way and Jessica Wiandt.See the full content of this document
