Let me first start out by addressing a recent letter I received from a reader. It was typed and included no return address or name. This person (I have a pretty good idea who it is) said I was DISGUSTING because I told people to vote for David Cook. Never did I tell people who I should vote for; I only said who I wanted to win. He or she also said Cook "looks like a bum" and that this person will never read anything I write ever again (I guess I don't have to worry about this person reading this column).

I would just like to go on record and say if I'm disgusting than so are millions of other people across the country because guess what? David Cook is the season 7 American Idol!!! WOO-HOO!!! And it's not like he won by just a few votes; he beat David Archuleta by a whopping 12 MILLION votes. That is absolutely amazing! I know my votes account for about a dozen, which is nothing compared to the more than 97 million votes received for both Davids combined. I wouldn't have been surprised if phone lines were knocked out after that astonishing number, would you? In all seriousness, the better OVERALL singer was crowned the winner, if I do say so myself.
