Wooster Women Fall in Ncac Quarterfinals

Summary

MEADVILLE, Pa. -- In a season of milestones, The College of Wooster was aiming to add one more to the list Tuesday evening in Meadville, Pa., when it faced off against third-seeded Allegheny College in the North Coast Athletic Conference quarterfinals. The Fighting Scots' hopes of making their first NCAC semifinal appearance since the 1995-96 season were shattered when the host Gators handed them a 59-42 setback, putting an end to Wooster's first winning season in 14 years and also ending the careers of the four Scot seniors -- Kassandra Dobson, Maria Gonzalez, Carly Loehrke and Beth Besancon Sidle.

The Scots (14-12) and Gators (18-7) played a back-and-forth game, with Wooster trailing 28-23 at intermission despite leading on several occasions.
